When the Moon Holds the Night in Magical Awe, Estes Park, CO

Life on the open road taught me that I prefer to live with a looser sense of routine. I love and thrive on the soft edge of uncertainty. And so, I try to keep my winter pause open to many different directions.
Even though sometimes I feel that I may have committed to something beyond my comfort zone, I do appreciate the challenge my presentation gives me.
I am happy to report that my presentation is moving at a good pace, and I have found the right balance of rhythm. I work on it daily and enjoy going back in time as I read, refreshing my memory and reviewing my photos and words.
One interesting thread I noticed while rereading my books is how a single event brought so many beautiful souls into my life.
In January 2021, I flew to Florida to attend the largest RV show. Yes, I was that serious about buying an RV.
Thankfully, due to the rise in gas prices, I stopped myself from getting one. That decision turned out to be a blessing, as I love how small I travel now.
At that show, I joined a Facebook meetup group for RV women. Later, in January of 2023, I joined the same group for a week-long meetup of boondocking in Quartzsite, Arizona. I met wonderful women there—many of whom I still consider friends today.
That was also the event where I met Susan. Without meeting Susan, who became a dear friend, I would not have met my dear Sandra. And without meeting Sandra, I would not have met my beautiful Barb and Nikki. Without meeting Sandra, I also would not be getting ready to present at the Wings Over the Rockies Nature Festival on May 5.
So many beautiful connections from one event. Coincidence? I no longer think so.
Today, I believe that every person, event, and place is simply part of my path. The more I relax into that understanding, the easier life becomes to accept.
I love my life among the Rockies. I love my job and my new love affair with glass fusion.
The Y might be the perfect winter pause I have been looking for, and I am strongly considering coming back next winter.
The mountains here are simply gorgeous. Hiking here is challenging—just the way I like it. My only wish is for more snow. I am still hoping for a white winter. I have fun playing ping pong with Pearl and Rebecca, and the community life here feels just right.
I appreciate having adventurous friends who are as excited as I am for a full moon hike.
What a magical night! The moon conquered the night sky with her beauty, shining brightly, her light creating shadows that danced with the gentle wind.
Simply breathtaking!!!
